Titanfall 2, Battlefield 1, Quake Champions, Dishonored 2 and more

BY AMIT BARAN ROY   |   It was a jam-packed last night at Los Angeles Convention Center hosting the Day 1 of E3 2016 event with showcases from EA and Bethesda. Kicking off the show was Electronic Arts’ first ever ‘EA PLAY’ event that was live simultaneously at Los Angeles and London. EA started their press conference with the multiplayer gameplay trailer of Titanfall 2 which is confirmed for a release on October 28th, a week after the launch of Battlefield 1. They have also announced an offline single player campaign too. Following up on that, Madden 17 got a reveal trailer for PS4 and Xbox One but was quickly overshadowed by the official gameplay trailer for FIFA 17. Big news for FIFA fans as for the first time, EA is bringing a Premier League story campaign mode ‘The Journey’ to FIFA 17 which will be based on the fictional character Alex Hunter. Big anticipations were there for Mass Effect Andromeda which recently got delayed to Q1 2017. Unfortunately we didn’t get to see much progress except the few behind the scenes sneak peeks, few alien species such as the Asari and Krogan and most interestingly the female protagonist (check out our earlier rumors about this character here). EA Star Wars gets a look ahead trailer and there was a trailer for Fe too. EA concluded their press conference with Battltefield 1, one of the most anticipated FPS shooter this year. The official Gameplay trailer was revealed followed by an immersive one hour multiplayer livestream with 64 players (32 each side) detailing out the various features of the platform. Bethesda kicked off their event with an old DOS-style screen, listing out the various id Software’s makings till date. One thing that many would have missed and may have gone unnoticed is that Bethesda was very clever to tease a new Wolfenstein titled ‘New_Colossus’ within that listing. Though no details about this has been revealed yet. Moving on, Bethesda officially started their press conference with the blockbuster reveal of Quake Champions. Yes, Quake has returned! The game will be running at an impressive 120hz with unlocked framerates. More details about gameplay will be shown during Quakecon 2016 in August. While many would have been waiting for an Elder Scrolls 6, sadly they may have to wait longer. Instead Bethesda revealed a trailer for The Elder Scrolls: Legends, a story-driven and strategic card-based game. Moreover there was also a throwback on Elder Scrolls Online which is available for PS4 and Xbox One. Bethesda have had their greatest ever E3 showcase in 2015 where they have announced heavy titles like Fallout 4 and DOOM. They could not have left them behind. There were showcase presentations for DOOM, Fallout 4 and essentially Fallout Shelter (currently available as free to play for Android and iOS) was announced for PCs. What’s more, Skyrim Special Edition is coming to PC on October 28 and Prey will be making a comeback to PC and Consoles in 2017. Last but not the least, Dishonored 2 got a two episode gameplay trailer yesterday night showing Emilia class apart assassination skills. The game goes live on Novemeber 11 this fall.
