Prison Architect has sold over 2 million units

Generated a good $25 million revenue too

BY AMIT BARAN ROY   |   Prison Architect, the private prison construction and management simulation video game by Introversion Software has successfully sold over 2 million units and have also generated a cute $25 million revenue too. In a press release, developers Introversion Software have said that-

This year's Steam sale was the biggest ever for us and we're astonished to be able to announce that we've sold over 2M units of Prison Architect on PC/Mac/Linux and generated a little over $25M,

They further said, "This amazing milestone comes hot on the heels of our PS4 and Xbox One launches last week and we can't wait to find out how many console gamers are going to be bitten by the PA bug."

The game was made available as a crowdfunded paid alpha pre-order on September 25, 2012. Frequent updates were scheduled for the game every three to four weeks. The alpha version of the game made over $10.5 million in pre-order sales. The game got officially released on October 6, 2015 for PC, OS X and Linux. Recently Double Eleven Limited worked closely with Introversion to bring out the console version of the game. The game got released on Xbox 360, Xbox One and PS4 on June 28, 2016. The indie strategy game has also won the 2016 BAFTA award in the Persistent Game Category.

Producer Mark Morris and Designer Chris Delay released this Youtube video yesterday where they talk about the epic console launch which was made possible by Double Eleven.
