Rocket League has officially reached 19 million players

Also four new DLC cars available today

BY AMIT BARAN ROY   |   Rocket League has been a huge success since its release on PC and PS4 last year in July. The Xbox One version was recently released in February this year. The initial bump in player base started to kick in as developers Psyonix offered the soccer-with-rocket-cars game as a free to play on Playstation Plus on release. Since then the game has saw over six million sales, and currently, it is officially standing at 19 million players from around the globe, Psyonix announced on their Twitter account.

This news was right after when Psyonix announced four new Battle-cars that were a part of their Collector’s Edition released earlier this month, are now available for digital purchase as DLC on Steam PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One. The four Battle-cars includes the Neo Tokyo-inspired, ‘Esper’ and ‘Masamune’ and the classic Supersonic Acrobatic Rocket-Powered Battle-Car vehicles, ‘Marauder’ and ‘Aftershock’. Each of the cars are priced at $1.99 USD.

In other news, Psyonix had recently celebrated their First Rocket League Birthday by releasing some awesome stats that shows the growing popularity of the game over the past year. What’s more, Rocket League also holds a consistent top 10 spot in Steam daily player count with peak players reaching more than 50K. Understandably, the mere 19.99$ game on Steam has offered millions of fun hours to players across the world.

Developers Psyonix had also confirmed that microtransactions in the form of TF2/Counter Strike-Style Crate System will be coming to the game but players can easily ignore them if they wish to. The Rocket League Championship Series takes place on August 6-7, so we can expect more exciting announcements in coming days.
