The Elder Scrolls Online surpasses 10 million players

New Events and Free Play periods announced

BY AMIT BARAN ROY   |   Bethesda’s The Elder Scrolls Online which was launched for PC and MAC in 2014 is the first MMORPG installment in the Elder Scrolls series. Initially criticized for excessive bugs, a ‘phasing’ game mechanic and a controversial subscription model, developers ZeniMax Online Studios did well to respond to the issues and went on to release a PS4 and Xbox One edition in 2015 rebranding the game to The Elder Scrolls Online: Tamriel Unlimited. After such a rough start, the game happened to become one of the biggest MMO’s around and, Bethesda has now announced that the game has surpassed 10 million players. In order to celebrate this success, Bethesda has released a trailer called ’10 Million Stories’ detailing out offers and free play periods to attract more players who want to try out this game.

From now until December 6, players can take part in a massive sweepstakes competition, free-play periods, and an in-game dungeon event for the chance to win a host of in-game and real-world prizes. One lucky winner will be eligible to grab the grand prize and win a trip to PAX East 2018 along with one friend. The massive giveways lasts December 6th 11:59 AM EST. What’s more, players can get to earn random in-game loots containing rewards such as consumables, pets, costumes, and even a massive collection of super rare mounts and houses by completing a random dungeon via the Dungeon Finder. This event is live from November 30th at 10 AM EST until December 6th at 10 AM EST.

PS4, Xbox One and PC players also get the chance to play Elder Scrolls Online for free starting November 30th to December 6th. Further to note that Elder Scrolls Online will not be having any subscription model. Bethesda is also offering 50% discount on the Gold Edition of Elder Scrolls Online. This offer will last till December 7th.

The Elder Scrolls Online, for the first time allows players to get connected and experience the thrill of Elder Scroll series online with in game social network. Similar to other Elder Scrolls titles, the MMORPG version is also based on the nonlinear gameplay with a mixture of quests, random events, and free-roaming exploration of the world.
