Square Enix calls off Deux Ex: Mankind Divided “Augment Your Pre-Order” Campaign owning to ‘resounding’ fan lividity

BY AMIT BARAN ROY   |   Square Enix and Eidos Montreal, after carefully scrutinizing some of the outrageous comments of the fans as well as a ‘resounding’ amount of negative feedback, has decided to shut down their Deus Ex: Mankind Divided “Augment Your Pre-Order” Program which was announced in the previous month alongside with the release date. This program was planned to provide the customers with Pre-Order incentives in the form of tiered rewards.

Each tier gets unlocked when a sufficient number of Pre-orders were received. For Example, in tier one, customers could choose from one of three in game packs such as classic pack or enforcer pack. The program also promised that the game could be released four days prior to the launch date if sufficient registrations count were reached. But in one of the posts released by Square Enix in the Deux Ex website claimed that this strategy aggravated more frustrations among the fans than earlier. Thus, they announced that from now on, the incentive content will be available to anyone who pre-orders Deux Ex: Mankind Divided or purchases a Day 1 edition of the game.

Also, to protect the interests of those who already pre-ordered the game, Square Enix has reassured that all changes to the program will be automatically applicable to their purchase. Having said that, the release date of the game remains locked on February 23rd, 2016 and will be accessible to everyone across the world on the same day.

On August 31, 2015, Square Enix had announced that Deus Ex Mankind Divided will release on February 23, 2016. They also announced their Pre-order campaign which will let players choose their own preorder bonuses and these bonuses will be segmented into "tier". More bonuses will be unlocked with increasing number of global pre-orders. The Ultimate bonus "Augment Your Preorder" as they mentioned would be being able to play the game "Four days before the worldwide release". This now stands cancelled as the campaign is called off.
