BY AMIT BARAN ROY   |   One of the most eagerly awaited games of this fall, Halo 5: Guardians, set to be released on October 27th 2015, gets a more of a lugubrious official TV commercial this Sunday Night Football which has brought a momentary sadness and some tears in the eyes of the fans. In the ongoing marketing campaign of frequent live action trailers by Microsoft and 343 Industries, this TV commercial titled “A Hero Falls” features ONI making an announcement to the nation claiming the death of the Spartan 117, ‘Master Chief’ on the day of October 27th, 2560 “in the line of duty”. According to her announcement, the entire species has suffered on that day hinting us towards a severe calamity that may have caused such casualties. The commercial released by Xbox Youtube channel created a mental disturbance among the fans and has given reasons for a possible mourning across the universe.

Earlier in E3 2015 Microsoft Press Conference, a 6 minute long gameplay demo was released giving a short live experience of ‘The Battle of Sunaion’ where both Spartan Locke and Fireteam Osiris were engaged in the pursuit of Master Chief and Blue Team in the planet Sanghelios. The campaign featured a stunning mission with immersive battles and firefights. At the end of the briefing, they also revealed Halo 5 Warzone, the multiplayer platform enabling upto 24 players head to head as well as AI bots on a much larger Halo map.

Update: Contrary to the last week’s TV spot, Xbox released another live action commercial which has cleared some air on the ongoing suspense of Master Chief’s destiny. It revealed that ONI was trying to cover up the actions of Master Chief, one who used to be the most deterministic and veteran soldier of the 21st century with unimpeachable service records, now has gone rogue according to them. So, to the world, the official story is master Chief is dead but the unofficial story is Spartan Locke who has been given the green signal to hunt down Master Chief. But it all seems to be a big misunderstanding round the corner, as ONI is surely missing something and the encounter can be a serious mess. Check out the TV commercial and ‘Hunt the Truth’ yourself.

Heads Up: The absolute fan-favourite upcoming first person shooter Halo 5: Gaurdians is a sequel to Halo 4 and is in development by 343 Industries and set to be released by Microsoft Studios on October 27th, 2015.
