Hitman’s “showstopper” gameplay reveals some of the advanced features of the game ahead its official release

BY AMIT BARAN ROY   |   Agent 47, the silent assassin and gentleman in disguise, will once again be in action with his master assassination skills and style in the city of Paris this December 8. For those of you still confused, note that Square Enix has confirmed the game ‘Hitman’ which is the 6th installment in the Hitman video game franchise and is under development by the developer IO Interactive. Sony had previously released the announcement trailer during it’s E3 2015 press conference on 15th June 2015 which was followed by the world exclusive gameplay trailer next day, at the Square Enix press conference.

The gameplay video reveals some of the stunning gameplay features including masterpiece of assassinations, brilliant disguises, exquisite level designs and a fine set of skills, weapons and equipments together to achieve an ultimate assassination experience.

The game is meticulously designed to provide the best possible sandbox experience where players are given the freedom to approach the missions in their own way and adopt any gameplay style they want.

What Can We Expect?

  • The trailer shows that the players can choose their desired weapons and equipments before every mission. It can be a sniper rifle or silenced pistols, as well as knives, katanas, lockpicks and even swords. Weapons can be stashed in some particular locations at the start of the mission which can be used later.
  • The missions in Hitman are comparatively six to seven times larger than the biggest levels of Hitman Absolution. Players need to use the listening and exploring skills of agent 47 to know their surroundings well and meet the objectives efficiently.
  • This game of Hitman marks the return of the crowd system and introduces the concept of vast number of death traps than ever before like fire alarms etc. Also, every level in Hitman can accommodate upto 300 fully simulated Non-Playable Characters(NPCs) in comparison to 40 or 50 NPCs in the previous installment, that have different roles and can affect the levels in the game in response to actions committed.
  • The trailer also reveals some of the different disguise and trespassing styles, stealth kills and dead body hidings, and possible distractions to get under the enemy’s nerves.
  • The ‘instinct system’ is also back in the Hitman game, which can highlight important details and useful elements around agent 47. This system is optional and can be turned off entirely if the player wants.

Heads Up: Hitman is set for a worldwide digital release on December 8 for Xbox One, Playstation 4 and PC. The retail version of the game will be available in 2016. Also, the Playstation 4 version of the game will feature six exclusive missions and players who pre-ordered will be given game’s Beta access. The game will have no downloadable content and micro transactions as the company has considered it as ‘wrong approach’. All extra missions will be released as free updates. Stay tuned for more gameplay footage reveals by Square Enix ahead its official release.
