Need for Speed 2017- Payback Trailer revealed

New Screens and Release Date announced

BY AMIT BARAN ROY   |   The newest entry in the long running Need For Speed franchise, titled ‘Need For Speed Payback’, is finally revealed by EA and developer Ghost Games ahead of E3 2017. Earlier in 2016, EA had announced that they are going away with their annual release cycle and they had also stated that they are going to unveil a new game in 2017 which will not follow the ‘always online’ mode as seen in the Need For Speed reboot in 2015. Need For Speed Payback is set to release this November 10th for PC, PS4 and Xbox One. No details have been provided for a PS4 Pro, Nintendo Switch or an Xbox Scorpio release. Origin/EA Access members can play Payback for 10 hours starting November 2nd and, can also save 10% on the game with a net buying price of $54.

According to EA, the game will have "intense heist missions, high stakes car battles, epic cop pursuits, and jaw dropping set pieces." These will be in addition to a "blockbuster gameplay never before seen from the series, fueled by a gripping story of betrayal and revenge." Payback is set in the fictional world of Fortune Valley where the player will have choice to play as three different characters: Tyler, Mac and Jess. EA says, the three distinct characters will be "reunited by a quest for vengeance against The House, a nefarious cartel that rules the city’s casinos, criminals and cops."

According to the press release by EA, players who buy the Platinum Car Pack will get access to the following five uniquely customized cars with added "Platinum Blue Tire" smoke.

  • Nissan 350Z 2008
  • Chevrolet Camaro SS 1967
  • Dodge Charger R/T 1969
  • Ford F-150 Raptor 2016
  • Volkswagen Golf GTI Clubsport 2016

The Deluxe Edition will also give the players three days of Early Access to the full game (starting November 7th) along with customized items like the Deluxe Edition license plate and NOS color, in-game discounts, and Rep bonuses.

Finally, the game will not require a constant internet connection as we saw in the Need For Speed 2015 reboot. More information and details are expected during EA’s E3 event later this month.
