Kefirgames, this stealth based horror game has already made its appearance in the Steam Greenlight community carrying the moto of ‘One Game. One Life’.   Until now, we as gamers have always had the luxury to customize our gaming world according to our comfort level and as we liked it to be. We chose our own difficulty level of the game and never really cared about the number of retries it took to complete a mission. But what if this incisive line between virtuality and reality ceases to exist? One Life seems to offer a whole new perspective to the modern day virtual gaming. The multiplayer first person shooter game set in a catastrophic world full of violence and cruel humanity, will provide players with literally only one life to make their worth count in the game. Currently in development by
The game proposes a very interesting concept of actually having your steam account locked out, the moment you die in the game. Don’t just lose your hopes yet as there are ways to save your account. The One Life Greenlight page explains the four facets that will exist in the game- ‘Forgive, Humiliate, Finish off, Take everything he has’. Its all dependent on the surviving ‘victorian’ players to decide on the fate of the defeated players. One can take the defeated players as captive and ‘make them work it off’. They will be willing to do anything to be free once again.
There is also the live chat and audio system where the victors can fancy the ‘screams of rage and cries for help’ of the losers. The trailer even revealed the ‘digital piss’ feature to literally piss off the losers (no offence). To my surprise, the game is available for Pre-Order at a minimal 10$ price which don’t look minimal given the fact that the game could be over in seconds for some unlucky ones. Thus it is believed that the Steam Refund policy will get some real testing once this game is released.
“What is this game about?”
- Permadeath- The most significant, intense and threatening feature of the game. Its permanent gameover for a player once he takes a bullet or falls prey to a friend’s betrayal.
- Domination- The ultimate feel of power over a defeated one. Forgive, kill, humiliate, loot or do whatever you feel like to the fallen player. Its the perfect stage to rule the gaming world.
- Survival- Choose between hunting or being hunted. A player can land in hot spots full of enemies, shooting his way around or one can stay put in hidden and safe areas and wait for their opponents.
- Travelling- Players can build up their mobile truck together with other friends and travel all parts of the world. The truck is like a safe house that can be pimped with refreshments and ammunition to survive the cruel world.
While there has been no news on whether players could unlock their steam accounts any time after a cool down period, but the possibility of creating multiple accounts has not been denied. Though it may be the case that the player will eventually lose the character and have to start fresh. To me, the game looks pretty much like a Royal Rumble match in a WWE show, where each player relentlessly tries to knock out and eliminate the other players. The game in its first look in the trailer, seems quite promising that will surely bring some challenge among the community gamers and a greater level of addiction and stealth shooting mastery.
Heads Up: One Life is a stealth based horror multiplayer FPS game in development by Kefirgames and will be available only on PC. The game is available for Pre-Order at $10 price which also ensures an exclusive gun, access to Beta and a customized skin. The game can be a great come off with its innovative reality gaming concept and seriously shake up the steam gaming community. Stay tuned for our further analysis and announcements.
